About Us
– Operating in Armadale and Bull Creek
Healthfocus Clinical Psychology Services has been serving residents in Armadale, Kelmscott, Roleystone, Byford, Bedfordale and surrounding areas since 2004, and today continues to operate a privately owned, independent practice located in Pioneer Village, close to Armadale City Centre which is the hub of a vibrant and growing region including Seville Grove, Haynes, Forrestdale and Champion Lakes.
In 2017, we opened a Riverton practice next to Stockland Shopping Centre serving Riverton, Willetton, Parkwood, Shelley, Lynwood and neighbouring areas.
In March 2023, the Riverton clinic relocated to nearby Bull Creek near the Parry Village activity centre and close to Bateman, Leeming and Murdoch.
Healthfocus initially focussed on assisting clients with stress claims and worker’s compensation injuries. This included helping people to cope with conflict at work, adjusting to new work situations or overcoming trauma following incidents in the workplace, and assisting people with injuries to better manage chronic pain and adjust to permanent injuries or illnesses. Over time, our services expanded to include the psychology of “coping” and helping clients to cope more effectively, especially with depression, anxiety and trauma-related conditions.
Dr Yong Lee our Clinical Director, has practiced psychology since 1999, initially in the education sector, and then attained multiple postgraduate qualifications in Organisational and Clinical Psychology. She has a wealth of experience in injury management, psychological assessment and evidence based psychological therapy.
“Over many years we have built good relationships both with patients who attend as needed who recommend us to their friends and family, as well as with the local medical practices and doctors who regularly refer patients to us.”
Clinical Psychology is a pathway to learning new coping strategies
Seeing psychologists for support, treatment and counselling services has become an acceptable and common occurrence in modern society. People benefit from being helped to understand their thoughts and feelings and the impact of their behaviour on others – as well as others’ behaviour on them. Psychologists are trained to understand people’s presenting problems and to help them to arrive at their own solutions, as well as offering expert knowledge in a range of psychological areas and teaching psychological strategies where appropriate.
